A space described as “private” should be confirmed in the relevant documents and management arrangements.

- Is the home above the surrounding ground level?
- Are there signs of moisture near external walls or bathroom areas?

- Where are pool equipment, service routes, cafés or busy paths located?
A pool-view ground floor can feel lively and convenient, but it may be noisier during busy periods. A garden facing a quiet boundary can feel private, but may receive less light. Visit the exact home rather than deciding from the floor description alone.
Why buyers choose upper floors
Upper floors often provide better separation from paths and gardens. Depending on the building, they may receive more breeze, stronger daylight and a more open outlook. A genuine sea view or panoramic city view can materially change both enjoyment and value.
However, the words “upper floor” do not answer the practical questions. Confirm whether there is a lift, whether it is operating and maintained, and how many stairs remain between the lift and the property. In a top-floor home, inspect the ceiling and roof relationship and ask about roof access and maintenance responsibility.

Compare exact units with a short checklist rather than comparing labels. A thoughtfully positioned ground floor can outperform a poorly oriented upper floor, and an upper-floor home with reliable access can offer qualities that cannot be created later.
